Luvox

The History of Luvox: One of the members of the selective serotonin re uptake inhibitor family, Luvox is an obsessive compulsive disorder medication which was created by Solvay and approved by the FDA in December of 1994.

Luvox caution: Although each SSRI manufacture admit they do not know how their respective drugs work, each claim that they help to correct a “chemical imbalance of the brain.” If an SSRI is prescribed in the wrong dosage it may cause severe side effects.

Luvox and Columbine: Luvox is the drug which was prescribed to Eric Harris, one of the two teenaged gunmen at Columbine. While few can entirely blame his actions on his prescription, many people have complained about emotional numbness and loss of control due to SSRI prescriptions.

Family members of the Colorado incident sued Solvay and suffice it to say they no longer manufacture this drug. The stigmatism and negative light this drug shined on the SSRI industry made it an extreme liability. Today the other SSRIs are still commonly prescribed as if the side effects were not similar and as if they did not eat lives.

Natural alternatives to Luvox: What bothers me most about Luvox is that there are completely natural alternatives to drugs like these that few people know of or use. I recommend using 5HTP instead of taking chances with drugs like Luvox. Today Luvox itslef is not being manufactured, but a generic version of Luvox is. Some of the SSRI sisters to this drug are bringing in billions of dollars a year.
